Walgreens and the Express Scripts program

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Are you aware of Express Scripts program and how is it affecting Walgreens?
In case you are not aware you might find the following information useful.
In the past year Walgreens negotiated with Express Scripts to continue as a member its pharmacy provider network without coming to an agreement. Therefore, as of Jan 1st, 2012 Walgreens is no longer a member of Express Scipts’ pharmacy provider network.
First of all, who is affected by the Express Scripts program? Only patients with certain prescription insurance plans managed by Express Scripts are impacted. It should be mentioned that patients covered by Express Scripts not only have to change pharmacy but, sometimes, they have to drive farther to find a pharmacy to get their prescription filled at inconvenient hours. But what is Walgreens doing to help customers? Actually, many things. They offer a special discount on annual membership for its Prescription Savings Club: Walgreens Prescription Savings Club

What does this mean? It means that for $10 a year, a family membership covers everyone in the immediate family, including a spouse, dependents aged 22 and younger. Moreover, it includes pets as well. Other individuals may also join for $5. What are you waiting for? Join and receive discount prices on your prescriptions.
And there is more: you can save on more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic medications. There are also discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies. And of course, bonuses when you purchase Walgreens brand products and photofinishing services.
